Czech Airlines is not just a national flag carrier for the Czech Republic; it is also a nationally owned and operated company.

Czech Airlines is based at Ruzyne Airport in Prague and operates most of its flights from this airport.

Ruzyne Airport is the largest in the country and is thirty third largest in Europe (est. 2008) by passenger number with an estimated twelve million seven hundred thousand passengers in 2008. Passenger numbers are still growing at the airport mainly thank to Czech Airlines as they add new routes to their portfolio.

Czech Airlines operates from Prague to 96 locations worldwide with the main bulk of these flights being to European destinations. Not all the flights are direct and some flights are carried out with partner airlines under code share agreements.

The partner airlines Cazech Airlines has agreements with are Aeroflot, AeroMexico, Air France, Alitalia, Delta Airlines, Korean Air, Olympic Airlines and Jat Airways.
